Toyota Augmented Reality App is a new exciting way of personalizing your future Toyota. Configure your new Toyota and display it in your garage or on your table in the Living room. Immerse yourself in the interior, compare all finishes from different angles.

With the technology of Augmented reality you will be able to walk around the eye-catching design of the New Toyota, display your favourite grade, choose your ideal alloy and your favourite colour.

Until you bring it to home, it is the best way to show to family, friends and colleagues how will look like your New Toyota. At your garage, in the office or at the bar with friends.

This project began as a proof-of-concept, showcasing the potential of augmented reality for showcasing Toyota vehicles. However, due to its unique value and experience, it quickly evolved into a full-featured application for both Android and iOS devices.

Technical Highlights:

  • Built with Unity 2018 and AR Foundation: Leveraging the latest advancements in game development technology, the app delivers a robust and immersive AR experience.
  • Direct Communication with Toyota Services: The app seamlessly integrates with Toyota’s data infrastructure, providing users with real-time and accurate car information.
  • Mobile-Optimized 3D Models: To ensure smooth performance on mobile devices, optimized mobile-ready shaders are used on the model. This provides high-fidelity graphics without compromising user experience.

  • I was responsible for post-launch maintenance of the Toyota AR App on both Android and iOS platforms.
  • Implemented a comprehensive update strategy, ensuring timely delivery of bug fixes and new features to users across both mobile operating systems.
  • Proactively identified and addressed technical debt within the codebase, creating a long-term plan to optimize performance and maintainability.
